HEAL (Healthy eating and Active Living) COHORT: To improve health and wellbeing of individuals by addressing social, economic and health inequities
As per the World Health Organization “Health inequities are avoidable inequalities in health between groups of people within countries and between countries”. The interplay of social, economic, environmental and cultural determinants produce health inequity. Literature supports that by addressing the determinants of health disparities by relevant programs and policies can reduce the prevalent health disparities and improve the health of diverse population groups. This study would help in developing tailored intervention targeted to reduce the social, economic and health inequities. The research would help in identifying the key areas which need to be addressed through intervention to improve the health status of the general population.
Evaluating the Impact of Digital Intervention versus WHO PEN Approach in Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control in Resource-Limited Settings: A Quasi-Experimental Study
The study aims to evaluate the efficacy of digital interventions over WHO-PEN, highlighting their potential to improve healthcare delivery, and patient outcomes, and alleviate NCD burden in resource-constrained environments. Designed as a multi-site, mixed-method quasi-experimental study, it will involve collaboration with primary healthcare facilities to evaluate changes in NCD risk factors, treatment adherence, patient satisfaction, and healthcare utilization over one year.
Digital Health Intervention to enhance self-management of Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) among adults living in urban poor settings
This study aims to develop and test a digital health model that supports self-management of Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) among adults living in urban poor areas of New Delhi. It involves (1) developing a model that examines cardio-metabolic risk factors such as diet and physical activity, stress and sleep and its interplay with living environment in facilitating self-management of MetS among adults living in urban poor settings of New Delhi; (2) designing and developing an interactive digital health intervention to enhance self-management of MetS based on the findings of aim 1; and (3) pilot testing the utility and feasibility of the proposed digital health intervention platform among adults living in urban poor settings to help them self-manage their condition.
